With Valentine’s Day this month, many people have been showing off their relationships. Those of us who are single may feel a little lonely or left out. But don’t fret. Here are some PG and school-appropriate pick-up lines that you could use to spice up your love life and make this month a little less lonely. Some may be a little cringy, but who can resist a cheesy pick-up line?!

Teachers have lives outside of school too, so I asked a couple of them to do what they do best—teach! Both of them are married, so they obviously have some experience.

1. Mrs. Kerska’s favorite pick-up line is “Are you Australian? Because you meet all of my koala-fications.”

Her husband, Brian, has clearly been charmed by her lines. If you try it out and get any response other than that, the person is lion to you.

2. Mrs. Melchior’s favorite pick-up line is “Are you made of copper? Because I can Cu in a relationship with me.”

If you or the other person love science, this is a line sure to spark some chemistry!

Some other great lines:

3. “I seem to have lost my phone number. Can I have yours?”

Obviously, do not use this during class because that would be completely against the rules for ECDs. But this line is perfectly safe for passing periods, snack break, and lunch.

4. “Life without you is like a broken pencil—pointless.”

As high schoolers, pencils are a hot commodity. If you want to show someone their true value, compare them to a pencil.

5. “Do you like Star Wars? Because Yoda only one for me!”

Does this person love to watch movies? Use this line to bring them to the dark side, or rather, the side of love.

6. “Are you a loan? Because you’ve got my interest.”

Put those financial literacy skills to use with this line! I’m 100% positive this line will make sure you are not a-loan any longer.

7. “If you were a triangle, you’d be acute one.”

What would a school-appropriate pick-up line list be without everyone’s favorite subject, math? You can count on this pick-up line to work on anyone.

8. “If you were a chicken, you’d be impeccable.”

If the person loves to take agriculture classes, I’m sure they would be utterly impressed with this line.

9. “I’m learning about important dates in history. Want to be one of them?”

Your single life will be history after using this line.

10. “You’re so fine, you made me forget my pickup line.”

I had to save the best for last. If none of the other nine seem like the right fit, or maybe you just have a bad memory, this line is always a solid choice.

Now, I know these pick-up lines are cheesy and cringy, but they are, in fact, referred to as “the dad jokes of Valentine’s Day,” according to senior Claire Morgan. I can guarantee that using one of these lines will help you get anyone you want. I wish you all the best of luck, and you’re welcome.
