We all get ready for the night. After looking forward to it for months, the time is here. It’s prom. We all get ready, take pictures, get dinner, and go to the dance. Planning for prom seems so stressful. Between figuring out times and reservations, to organizing rides from place to place. The easiest part is always going to the dance. You get there, walk in and pay, and are let into a magical place that you can’t believe was just your boring school 24 hours ago. No one really thinks about everything that goes into making the school so magical. That is exactly what I am going to tell you about today. We interviewed two people who helped plan prom this year: Marley Redell and Mrs.Gorski to help us learn more about the true process.
First we asked them what it’s like organizing prom. Mrs.Gorski said “It’s fun when the officers and prom court have a clear vision for what they want it to look like.” followed by Marley saying “It can be stressful but was an amazing experience and the final results made it worth it.” We followed up that question by asking what one thing people don’t realize about planning prom. Gorski replied by explaining that it takes a lot of work to decorate and “the more hands, the better.” Marley agreed saying, “It can be difficult to communicate with everyone and the dance takes so much planning time that people don’t realize.” We appreciate that they do all of that behind the scenes and make everything work out.
Next we asked them what their favorite part about planning is, to which Mrs.Gorski responded with “Mrs.Barlow and I buying wigs”. In case you missed it, Mrs.Gorski and Mrs.Barlow greeted everyone at the door to collect payment wearing Rapunzel wigs. They looked fantastic. Marley’s favorite part was “getting to pick out the decorations to fill the school with and seeing it all come together,” and we think they did a fantastic job with that.
Our final question to them was if they could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be and why? Mrs.Gorski answered with “Ordering the supplies soon so we weren’t worried about if they would come in time.” Marley said the same thing, adding that it was difficult to try to set things up the day of the dance. Although they might have been setting up last minute, you would never know.
In summary, the dance was absolutely amazing. From the decor, to the music, to the overall vibe. The night was awesome and we were all tangled up in the moment. Thank you to Marley Redell and Mrs.Gorski for the inside scoop on this event. We hope you all had a great time and now understand all the work that goes into making the night so magical.
