The future of Lodi high school looks brighter than ever with the freshman football team finishing undefeated, with their season ending with a staggering 8-0 record. Many close calls, and many shut outs, the Lodi freshmen team has shown massive commitment to not only their roles, but also their school life.
From the first kick off of the season, to the final touchdown, this team has shown what they’re willing to give up in order to prove themselves. Working both in season, but outside of the season, with a majority of them actively participating in lifting programs like BFS and football camps, there was no doubt that this team was prepared to “Lay The Hammer,” said by freshmen lineman Nathen Wenger. This preparation was the sole reason for their success during their season and with playoffs beginning for varsity, there’s no doubt that they will bring this energy to any and all games that they will face against.
This upcoming team are not only teammates and friends, but they also relate to each other as if they were family shown through their upstand coordination as a team as well as their desire to play. Weather it be in the pouring rain or blazing heat, you can be sure that they will always find another reason to continue to play.
Many play sports for a number, a statistic, a score, but these players played to prove themself to other schools and to bring Lodi to another level.
