When Spotify Wrapped was released, the number one artist was Bruno Mars. Top artists vary from person to person, but many have similar top artists. For example, many people might have Taylor Swift as their top artist, while a different group might have Billie Eilish as their top artist. There are hundreds of artists that catch listeners’ attention every year. Some even capture the world’s attention. Top artists change yearly or monthly because of what sparks people’s interest and what goes viral through social media. This year’s top artist(s) were Bruno Mars, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift. Artists like Taylor Swift might be in the charts while others might rise and then fall.

Songs like “Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish might top the charts while another song like “Sailor Song” by Gigi Perez might go viral on TikTok. Viral songs and Top Songs might even be the same. Every artist has at least one song that boosts their career or puts them back on people’s algorithm. One example of that is “Die With a Smile” by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga. One issue that might come up with Spotify Wrapped is the accuracy. Freshman Emma Bader put it perfectly, “I feel like it is because it encapsulates your entire like music over the year, but I also don’t want to see what I listened to at the beginning.” Some might say that Spotify Wrapped exposed them from the beginning of the year while others might say that it was spot on from beginning to end.
