Whether it’s the jolly jingles that bring back all the childhood nostalgia or the repetitive tunes that some find grading, Christmas music has a unique way of stirring up people’s emotions. To some people, Christmas music is so good that it should even be played right after Halloween. Such as LHS senior Izzy Bahe.
“You know I love Christmas music but the week of Halloween and until close to February is reserved for Christmas music. or maybe on a random summer day when you need a little lift.” But others feel that it loses its special sense of joy if it’s overplayed. Or that Christmas music,
“Should only be played 2 days before Christmas.” According to LHS teacher Mr. Schmidt. This leads to the next question: when should Christmas music be played if at all? According to Senior Gracie Burkholder,
“Christmas Music should only be played from December 1st to the 25th.” Her views fit in with the 64% of people who insist that Christmas music should never be played before the 1st of December according to Stylist. What do you think, should we play Christmas music from Halloween to Valentine’s Day as some people believe or should we leave the giddy music for December?
Are you one of those people who when they walk into a store and hear Christmas music on and can’t help but hum along? Or maybe you’re a part of the group of people who feel there are only a few good Christmas songs and they get way overplayed such as Mr. Schmidt. But when should it be turned off? Right after Christmas or do you like to take in that last grasp of Christmas joy? Despite these views, Christmas music plays a significant role in the holiday season.
