Lodi Pride is high in the 608. The fall sports for the high school has went very well for all teams. With almost every team having a winning record, and some still fighting hard in the playoffs. Lets look at how some of these seasons ended up.
Lodi tennis has won conference back to back years! They ended 13-5 including a varsity quad that JV players filled in. It was a good season all around with every single player winning and moving past sub-sectionals.
Lodi volleyball had a phenomenal season! For the first time sense 2017 they had over 20 wins, where the volleyball team was 28-11 and second in conference behind Lakeside Luthern who was undefeated in conference. For the postseason they ended up as the 4 seed! Sadly they season got cut short against Platteville loosing 3 sets to 1 in the first round.
The cross country had a challenging schedule and a few rough patches dealing with injuries throughout the season. A few highs in the season is that the boys took first in there home, and the girls Zoey Bahe got conference 2nd team! For the guys Everete Clemens and Nolan Pertzborn got all conference second team as well! Someone who had a great season this year was Roger Mellend. He got the Poynette course record and capital conference runner of the year. Sadly no one was able to make it past the first round.
The boys soccer team also had a impressive season! For the regular season they were 9-3-4. Sadly with there goal of beating Sugar River and winning conference for the first time sense 2014, it got cut short ending up 3rd to loosing against Lakeside and Sugar River. But having some good ups in the season is that they are undefeated defending the Lodi turf and got the 3 seed in the playoffs and lifted up the regional trophy for 5th time in there history and the first time sense 2014. There starting center back Nichalas Rentmester said “Goal is to make it to state for the first time.” Sadly that didn’t happen when they lost in the 3rd round in playoffs against 2 seed St John military academy 2-0.
Our last year state football champs are also having a well season. Starting the season with two wins then sadly losing to our rivals the Columbus Cardinals in week 3. They ended 3rd in conference behind Columbus and Lake Mills where both of there loses came from, with another loss against Darlington on our turf to end in a 6-3 regular season record. Hayden Tadysak said there playoff goal is to make a deep playoff run and see what they can do game by game. They started the playoffs at home against the Dells beating them 37-20. In the second round football lost to 1 seed Aquinas 29-0 in Lacrosse.
To conclude, lots of teams has reached there goals and has had spectacular years and seasons. Thanks to all the seniors for giving us a great seasons and games to watch.
