Transfer Students’ Thoughts
February 28, 2023
As a transfer student, I have thoughts that usually never get out about this school, from its size to the kindness of its people. And as I thought about it, I realized that other transfer students might have thoughts to share as well. Let’s take Kyle Vang, for example, a sophomore at Lodi High who transferred here in September from Sheboygan South High. One difference that he mentioned was, “There are more people here, it’s a bigger school.” While this change can be scary for some students, it can also be a positive one.
Next on the list is Joshua Xiong, a junior at Lodi who came from Madison West High, which has 1,684 more students. Madison West is larger in terms of student population and size, and Joshua said that Lodi is “more hands-on.” He noticed that smaller schools often have better coordination among their members compared to larger schools. “For example, back at Summit High, the school was much bigger compared to here, and my old school, Summit, was very uncoordinated and the community was very toxic. Then, when you look towards Lodi the community is better, and is more coordinated.”
